Details of 7 Day Trek Along The Inca Trail To Machu Picchu

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN CUSCO

After your arrival to Cusco, we will take you to the hotel and then join your guide for a briefing about the wonderful tour that awaits you. The rest of the day will be free to enjoy it as you prefer

Overnight at: Casa Andina Classic Cusco Plaza (3*) or Similar.

Option 1: Half-Day City Tour (not included)
We will pick you up at 1:00 pm from your hotel to start the tour and visit the following places.

* The Koricancha: Temple of the sun.
* The Cathedral: Marvel of the religious art.
* Sacsayhuaman: Majestic place with impressive works in stone, some up to 120 tons.
* Q´enqo: (Labyrinth) a religious center dedicated to the adoration of the Earth.
* Puca Pucara: (reddish place) military control center.
* Tambomachay: (Temple of the Water) a center of adoration and worship of water.

DAY 2: OPEN DAY FOR LEISURE 

Option 2: Full Day Sacred Valley Tour (not included)
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am. This is a full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley, visiting on the way the colorful Indian market in Pisac where you will be able to appreciate the mixture of color and tradition. We continue towards Urubamba where we will have a break to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch (not included) then we continue through to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire. The last visit will be the Chinchero market. At the end, we will return you to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco at approximately 6:30 pm.

DAY 3: CUSCO - PISKACUCHO - LLACTAPATA

Pick you up from your hotel between 4:00 - 4:30am to travel by bus to Piskacucho. There will be a stop in Ollantaytambo to have breakfast
Our adventure begins upon arrival at kilometre 82. The first day is relatively easy, and we will get great views of the Incan Fortress, Huillca Raccay, and the incredible Llactapata area. We get to our first campsite, Ayapata, on the afternoon.
 
DAY 4 LLACTAPATA - PACAYMAYU - RUNKURAQAY

After waking up at 5:30 am and having breakfast, we will start a steep ascent through the Abra de Warrmihuañusca or Dead Woman's Pass.
Once we have completed the trek, begins the descent in order to arrive to Pacaymayu, where we will have lunch.
After lunch, begins the second two hour steep climb to the Runkuraqay area, arriving to our campsite around 5 pm.
 
DAY 5 RUNKURAQAY - PHUYUPATAMARCA - WIÑAY WAYNA

We wake up for breakfast at 6 am, to then start a light climb to visit the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca.
On our path to the third campsite, we will get to see highlands landscapes along the way. We will arrive at Wiñay Wayna at lunch time, after walking around 4 – 5 hours
A short distance from this campsite is located the Incan site of the same name, which can be translated to Forever Young. It can be visited if you wish to.
 
DAY 6: WIÑAY WAYNA - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. Then, depart from the campsite around 5:30 am to head towards Machu Picchu.
We will reach "Inti Punku" before sunrise to see the wonderful Inca citadel. Then, you will enjoy a 2-hour guided walking tour, after which you can explore the city on your own.
After touring the area, we will get on a train back to Ollantaytambo, and from there, travel to Cusco by bus.

DAY 7 CUSCO'S FAREWELL

After breakfast, we will take you back to the airport according your flight itinerary
