Nature and Wildlife Rafting Birding Wildlife watching Boat tour

The Manu Jungle excursion includes ground transportation from Cusco, accommodations in eco-lodges within Manu National Park, all meals during the expedition, expert guides in Amazonian biodiversity, and activities such as wildlife spotting, jungle hikes, and river rafting. Basic equipment such as rubber boots is also provided for the hikes. It is a unique experience for those seeking to connect with nature and explore the rich flora and fauna of one of Peru`s most stunning destinations.
The best time to visit the Manu rainforest is during the dry season, which runs from May to September. During these months, weather conditions are more favorable, with a lower probability of rain, making hiking through the jungle and navigating the rivers easier. Furthermore, the reduction in rainfall increases the chances of animal sightings, as many species come closer to water sources. Planning your visit during these months will ensure a more pleasant experience and less complicated by inclement weather.
For travel to Manu National Park, it is recommended to have the yellow fever vaccination, as a precautionary measure before entering jungle areas. It is suggested to get the vaccine at least 10 days before your trip. It is also wise to bring insect repellent, lightweight, long-sleeved clothing, and sunscreen. Consulting a trusted doctor or health center for more information on vaccinations and tropical health is always advisable before planning your trip to the Amazon rainforest.
Accommodations during the Manu jungle excursion are provided in eco-lodges strategically located within the park. These accommodations offer basic amenities, such as clean beds and mosquito nets, and are designed to minimize environmental impact. The cabins blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings, allowing visitors to experience nature up close. The included meals are prepared with local ingredients, providing a native experience that perfectly complements the adventure in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.
Cusco`s altitude, located at approximately 3,400 meters above sea level, can cause altitude sickness in some visitors, especially those arriving from lower altitudes. Symptoms such as headaches, nausea, and dizziness are common, but are usually relieved with rest, hydration, and proper acclimatization. It is recommended to spend one or two days in Cusco to acclimatize before embarking on the excursion to the Manu jungle. Bringing coca leaves or products that help mitigate the effects of altitude sickness can also be beneficial to fully enjoy the trip.
