Day 1 - Puerto Ayora
Reception at Baltra airport and transfer by public bus to the dock of the Itabaca channel, from there we will cross by public ferry to Santa Cruz Island, where a transport will be waiting for us to take us to Puerto Ayora. During the trip we will have the opportunity to visit the lava tunnels and a giant tortoise reserve.
We will arrive at our accommodation, leave our belongings and have free time to get to know Puerto Ayora and have lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, where we can learn more about the Galapagos Islands, the species that live there, their formation and evolution, the conservation programmes and observe some giant tortoises in captivity.
Finally, around 6:00 pm we arrive at our hotel where we will have free time for dinner and rest.
Day 2 - Tortuga Bay Beach
From 7:00 am breakfast at the hotel will be waiting for us and then we will start our excursion to Playa Tortuga Bay.
We will walk for about 40 minutes until we reach this beach. With its white sand and green mangroves, it is one of the most famous beaches in the Galapagos. There we will be able to swim and be in contact with nature and see marine iguanas and sea lions up close. We will have free time for lunch (It is advisable to bring lunch as there is no place to have lunch nearby).
Around 2:00 pm a yacht will take us to the bay to visit the home of sea lions that are located in that area, known as "La lobería". In this same place we will be able to snorkel to discover the marvellous underwater life that Galapagos has.
We continue our tour until we reach the "Canal del amor", a place where nature allows us to admire its beauty. At the end of this channel, we will find a viewpoint where we will be able to observe white-finned sharks. We will also take a short walk to see marine iguanas on the beach of the dogs and we will visit Punta Estrada.
Approximately at 4:30 pm we return to the dock to transfer to our accommodation. Once we arrive, we will have free time.
Day 3 Puerto Ayora - Airport
We will have breakfast at the hotel and a shuttle will pick us up to take us to the Itabaca Canal. On the way from the hotel to the canal, we will have the opportunity to make a brief stop at the craters "Los gemelos" to see the scalesia forests.
Then, we will cross by public ferry to Baltra Island to take the buses to the airport.
