We explored the university`s Botanical Garden , home to a wide variety of plant species and an ideal spot for nature lovers. We strolled through Saval Park , home to the famous Lotus Lagoon , a tranquil and beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature.
As an optional excursion , we will have the opportunity to visit Fort Niebla , an imposing coastal fortification offering spectacular panoramic ocean views and a deep dive into the region`s military history. Afterward, we will travel to the coastal town of Niebla, 17 km from downtown Valdivia. Here, we will visit the imposing Castillo de la Pura y Limpia Concepción de Monfort de Lemus , a key fortification in the Spanish colonial defensive system. Inside the castle, the on-site museum offers a fascinating perspective on the region`s military history, complementing our understanding of the Spanish Crown`s most important defensive system south of Callao.
