The walk begins with the departure from our selected hotels in Puerto Varas, traveling towards the shores of the Llanquihue Lake, that with its 860 km long, is the country's second largest lake.
Here we will visit the beautiful city of Frutillar, a place that mixes the peacefully country life, colorful gardens and houses and tearooms. It was founded by German colonists who settled on farms near the bay to engage in agricultural activities, and even today, many of their homes retain the German colonial urban style.
Frutillar perfectly represents the southern traditions, reflecting the history of German settlers in the region. These traditions can be appreciated through its architecture, introduced species of roses in the gardens and the typical pastry and gastronomy, main attributes sought by visitors.
Among the attractions to visit highlights the Lake Theater, one of the largest and most modern in South America, which is also one of the city´s emblematic places where concerts, plays, ballet and films are held throughout the year. Also, we will visit the German Colonial Museum during our tour.
