Details of Day Tours

Starting from the urban area of Futaleufú we will drive 25 km to the south , towards the starting point of our adventure, on the way we will be surprised by the beautiful landscape that surrounds the area, closed coihues forests, deep canyons, lakes, waterfalls , huge lenga trees, without a doubt an engaging environment.

The Futaleufú River Rafting, operates every half hour, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, so you can choose the most time comfortable to carry out the activity and accordingly the pick up will be scheduled by your hotel.

Once we are at the starting point, two expert guides will accompany us in the activity, we will receive a talk about safety, basic movements, recognition all of the rafts and teamwork. The Futaleufú is not an easy river, but with good driving and a safety kayak that will lead the way, anyone who knows how to swim can enjoy this experience. nbsp ;

The guides will distribute the equipment we will use on the river: ropes, carabiners, tapes and pulleys, which we will take to the side of the raft for emergencies. And also the safety equipment for each participant, wetsuits, life jackets, helmets and paddles.

Before diving into the river we will do a couple of practices on how to handle the boat during navigation, we will integrate as a coordinated team to overcome the obstacles that the river will present during the 3 hours of navigation and adrenaline . To ensure more activity, we will rehearse several times changes of weights, essential to maintain the stability of the raft in the middle of the rapids, paddling on the left and right side, forward and backward, until we all achieve coordination and the necessary speed.

Finally, after all preparations, we`ll jump into the river. We will meet the first rapid, the Suspension Bridge (class III) . It will be an incredible activity, the raft will move strongly and the water will enter from all sides, one of the guides will go on the raft with us leading the adventure and the other guide will go in the safety kayak, in front of the raft recognizing and marking the path.

Then After passing the first rapid, we will enter the second, known as the Magic Carpet, a continuous rapid of one kilometer in length and class IV that will leave us breathless.

A small quiet section will give us a short rest before avoiding the the most demanding rapids and exciting, Mundaca and Pillow, of sorts  IV + and IV respectively.

Behind a curve and  after 8 km of river traveled, the Futaleufú Bridge will appear in front of us, the end point of our route. The Futaleufú River will bid us farewell with a last sparkling and sloping stretch.

We will close this adventure with a well-deserved rest on the banks of the river, where we can enjoy the snack, change our wet clothes (in changing tables available) and prepare to return to the hotel.
