the Yumbel Peasant Fair, a market
full of life where you can enjoy fresh products, local crafts and
an authentic Chilote atmosphere. This fair is the perfect place to
interact with the locals and learn about their customs and traditions.
Next, we
We will go to Mirador Gamboa, from
where you can admire the iconic stilt houses, colorful houses built on
piles in the water, which are an emblem of Castro`s architecture. This
viewpoint offers an unparalleled panoramic view, ideal for taking photographs and
appreciate the unique beauty of these traditional homes.
You can`t miss one
visit to the San Francisco de Castro Church,
an architectural jewel recognized as Heritage
of Humanity. This church, with its impressive wooden structure
and colorful interior, is a testament to the craftsmanship of the
inhabitants of Chiloé and their deep religious faith.
After exploring
Castro, we will head towards the Church of Tey,
a fascinating example of the community tradition known as “Minga de Tiradura de Iglesia”. In this
event, the entire community voluntarily participates in the transfer of the
church from its original location to its current position, demonstrating the
strong social cohesion and collaborative spirit of the Chilotes.
Our next
stop is the picturesque town of Dalcahue,
known for its artisanal shipyards
riversidewhere boats are built in a traditional way. This job
ancestral is an integral part of life in Chiloé and offers a unique vision
of the skills and techniques transmitted over generations.
In Dalcahue,
We will visit itsHeritage Church of the
Humanidad, another magnificent example of the religious architecture of
Chiloe. The church, with its wooden and shingle design, is a place of

We will conclude our excursion in the Market
Dalcahue Crafts, a meeting point for numerous artisans
who come together to sell their unique products. Here, you can find from
weaving and basketry to wood carvings and ceramics, each piece made with
dedication and representing the rich Chilote culture.
