The tour starts with the departure from San Pedro de Atacama, to head toward the most important archaeological sites in the area.
We will vist the Quitor Pukara, a prehispanic fortress built in the seventeenth century by the atacameños. Today represents an archaeological monument and its historical importance lies in the Battle of Quitor, one of the first confrontations between Spaniards and Indians in the beginning of the conquest.
Then we will meet the beginning of the "San Pedro Culture" at Tulor, where despite the time, it has been well preserved thanks to the natural conditions. This ancient construction is probably the first settlement in the basin of the Salar de Atacama. The construction resembles a circular maze where everything was a house or a meeting place
From this point we will go to a typical home from an Atacameña family, where we will taste local flavors of the region.
Finally we return to San Pedro de Atacama, where the tour ends.
