We will live a fascinating and unique cultural experience together, a full day in Lauca National Park and Lake Chungará , an experience that will take us to the heights of the Chilean Andes and immerse us in the natural beauty of this impressive corner of the Earth.
We will pick you up at your hotel around 7:00 am to begin taking the international road to Bolivia, entering through the Lluta Valley , with the aim of reaching the perfect place to appreciate nature and culture in all its dimensions.
During the ascent we will be able to appreciate the varied flora and fauna of the area and visit picturesque villages and sites We will visit archaeological sites such as the "Lluta Geoglyphs" and the " Poconchile Village," including its 17th-century church. We will also visit the Cardones Gorge and its four-meter-tall Candelabra Cacti. We will then explore the Pukara de Copaquilla, a pre-Incan defensive settlement. Finally, we will arrive at the Tambo de Zapahuira, where we will have a panoramic view of Socoroma and Putre, the capital of the Parinacota province. There, you can appreciate a spectacular panorama with its alfalfa fields and a snow-capped volcano in the background.
Once you enter Lauca National Park , you`ll see that it`s a true nature sanctuary surrounded by volcanoes and snow-capped peaks like Parinacota , Pomerape , the Quimsachatas , and the Guallatire Volcano with its permanent fumaroles. In the area, you can also see local wildlife, including animals such as guanacos, alpacas, vicuñas, llamas, and vizcachas . This spectacular landscape also features wetlands , llaret plants , paja brava grass , and the Cotacotani Lagoons with their marvelous green color.
At 4,517 meters, Lake Chungara rises majestically, offering breathtaking views of the Chilean Altiplano and a diverse array of birdlife , including giant coots, ducks, and pink flamingos . Nestled among these stunning landscapes is the village of Parinacota , with its Andean-Colonial architecture, its mud and thatched houses, and its 17th-century church . The village is home to people of Aymara origin, who live and practice their beliefs and traditions. Finally, we will visit the town of Putre, the provincial capital. Throughout the day, we will enjoy awe-inspiring panoramic views that will allow us to appreciate the grandeur of the Andes and their untamed beauty.
