We will live a fascinating and unique cultural experience together, a full day in the Lauca National Park and Lake Chungara, an experience that will take us to the heights of the Chilean Andes and immerse us in the natural beauty of this breathtaking corner of the Earth.
We will pick you up at your hotel around 7:00 a.m. tostart by taking the international road to
Bolivia, entering the Lluta Valley, with the goal of reaching the perfect place to appreciate
nature and culture in all their dimensions.
During the ascent, we will be able to appreciate the varied flora and fauna of the area and visit picturesque towns and sites of archaeological interest such as the "Lluta Geoglyphs" and "Poblado de Poconchile", visiting its 17th-century church. We will also visit the Quebrada de Cardones and its four-meter-high Candelabra Cacti. The Pukara de Copaquilla a pre-Incan defensive village. We will then arrive at the Tambo de Zapahuira, where we will have a panoramic view of Socoroma and Putre, the capital of the Parinacota province. You can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of its alfalfa fields and a snow-capped volcano in the background.
Once you enter the Lauca National Park, you will see that it is a true nature sanctuary surrounded by volcanoes and snow-capped mountains such as the Parinacota, the Pomerape, the Quimsachatas, and the Guallatire Volcano with its permanent fumaroles. In the area, you can also see the local fauna, including animals such as guanacos, alpacas, vicuñas, llamas, and vizcachas. This spectacular landscape also features the Bofedales, the Llareta, the Paja Brava and the Cotacotani Lagoons, with their wonderful green color.
At 4,517m, Lake Chungara rises above the impressive landscape of the Chilean Altiplano and boasts a variety of birdlife such as giant coots, ducks, and pink flamingos. Among these beautiful landscapes, we find the Town of Parinacota, with its Andean-Colonial architecture, its mud and wild straw houses, notable for its 17th-century Church, and its Aymara people with their beliefs and traditions. Finally, we will visit the town of Putre, the capital of the province. Throughout our day, we will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views that will allow us to appreciate the magnitude of the Andes and their indomitable beauty. This experience will leave us with a deep appreciation for Chile`s natural beauty.
