During the trip, you`ll enjoy two full-day excursions through some of the most iconic landscapes of Northern Argentina. Your first adventure begins early in the morning in Salta, traveling through the valleys of San Salvador de Jujuy and venturing into the historic Quebrada de Humahuaca. Along the way, you`ll visit different towns and attractions, discovering the natural and cultural diversity of this region.
The circuit includes Yala, Volcán, Tumbaya, and Purmamarca , where you can admire the famous Hill of Seven Colors , one of the most renowned natural formations in northern Argentina. The route continues to Maimará , with its distinctive Painter`s Palette , and Tilcara , home to the important archaeological site of El Pucará de Tilcara .
The excursion continues to Huacalera , crossing the Tropic of Capricorn , and then on to Uquía , renowned for its church and historic paintings from the Cusco School. Finally, you will arrive in Humahuaca , where you can explore its traditional town and the Independence Monument .
After exploring the main attractions of the Quebrada, you will begin your return journey to the city of Salta.
The second day begins early in Salta, heading towards the province of Jujuy. The route crosses part of the Quebrada de Humahuaca and allows you to visit some of the region`s most picturesque towns before arriving at the Salinas Grandes salt flats.
The circuit begins by passing through General Güemes, San Salvador de Jujuy, Yala and Volcán , until reaching Purmamarca , where you can contemplate the imposing Hill of 7 Colors and explore the streets of this traditional Andean town.
Next, you`ll continue along the spectacular Lipán Pass , a mountain road that reaches approximately 4,170 meters above sea level . During the ascent, you`ll stop at viewpoints to enjoy the landscapes of the Puna and take photographs.
The main destination will be Salinas Grandes , at about 3,400 meters above sea level , where you can contemplate the enormous white expanse of the salt flat, walk and enjoy one of the most striking natural settings in Northern Argentina.
Then you`ll return to Purmamarca , where you`ll have free time for lunch on your own and to explore the town before heading back to Salta. Along the way, there will be several stops for walking, admiring the scenery, and taking photographs.
To complete the experience, the package also includes the transfer from your hotel in Salta to the airport , completing the logistics of your trip.
