After being picked up at your hotel in the center of Rosario, we will start our excursion to San Nicolás, located on the Paraná River. Two hours from Buenos Aires and just half an hour from Rosario, we will arrive in Rosario and our guide will explain how the Nicoleño landscape was sculpted during the last 50 years by the steel industry. Until then, San Nicolas appeared essentially "material."
From 1984, a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary of the Rosary gave origin to a religious movement that today is a hallmark of the city. Every September 25th, hundreds of thousands of faithful gather at the Shrine of Our Lady.
We will begin our tour with a circuit of churches and religious art, with different chapels, parishes, churches and sanctuaries.
We will visit the Casa del Acuerdo, built in 1831, today functioning as a museum and has a contiguous library. In this house, the representatives of the provinces summoned by General Urquiza signed in May of 1852 the pact that gave rise to the Argentinian Constitution.
We will pass by the Rafael de Aguiar Municipal Theater, better known as the "Little Colon". Opened in 1908, it is an unforgettable stop for lovers of music and the performing arts.
Continuing with the circuit, we will pass an art gallery with exhibitions and various artistic activities.
Then, we will continue with the Cathedral of San Nicolás where since 1983, every year, a huge number of pilgrims from all latitudes arrive at the Sanctuary of Maria del Rosario. The Marian phenomenon is celebrated on September 25, but anyhow, every 25th of each month, a procession takes place with the Image of the Virgin.
Around noon, we will take time to have lunch at one of the restaurants in the center of San Nicolás (not included).
Once the circuit is over, we will return to the hotels in downtown Rosario.
