Details of Day Tours

Live an unforgettable experience in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park, combining sailing, trekking and the imposing visual contact with one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Patagonia: the Viedma Glacier, the largest in Argentina.

The day begins at Puerto Bahía Túnel, located just 18 km from the city of El Chaltén, recognized as the national capital of trekking. From there we set sail on a scenic cruise across Lake Viedma, whose turquoise waters reflect the immensity of the mountain range.

During the first sections of the journey, the boat moves slowly along the southern coast of the bay, allowing you to appreciate up close the majesty of the Huemul Massif, one of the most emblematic mountains of the southern Andes. Its presence dominates the landscape and anticipates the grandeur of what is to come.

After approximately 40 minutes of navigation, we arrive at the Cape Horn Bay, where a low-difficulty hike begins. The trail winds between rock formations and native vegetation until reaching a natural viewpoint on the Cape Horn Peninsula. From this vantage point, visitors can contemplate the Iceberg Bay, a visual spectacle where enormous blocks of ice break off and float slowly on the lake, while the Patagonian wind accentuates the silence and immensity of the surroundings.

After enjoying this moment of full connection with nature, we return to the boat to experience the most anticipated encounter: the approach to the front of the Viedma Glacier. As the boat approaches, the dimensions of the glacier begin to be revealed in all their splendor. The ice walls, up to 40 meters high, display shades ranging from pure white to deep blue, in a unique dance of light and reflections.

During this section, the specialized guide shares information about the formation, movement, and evolution of the glacier, allowing you to understand the magnitude of this ice colossus that is part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the most important freshwater reservoirs on the planet.

Finally, we begin the return trip to the port, with the feeling of having explored one of the most fascinating places in Patagonia. This voyage combines the serenity of sailing with the excitement of discovering pristine landscapes, making it an ideal option for those looking to experience Patagonia actively, without extreme physical demands, but with the intensity of an authentic and natural experience.

You can make your experience more exclusive if you choose the option with the Captain`s Club.
