The 4-hour City Tour begins in the morning with a visit to the Carpet Factory, originally created in Andalgalá and moved to the provincial capital in 1954. This factory school teaches Catamarcan women the ancient oriental technique of making carpets and tapestries. Using sheep`s wool and cotton thread warp, the artisans create pieces that compete internationally with the quality of Persian carpets.
We then head to the El Jumeal Dam, located just 10 minutes from the city center. Built in 1942 and fed by the El Tala River, this dam is a crucial source of drinking water for the city. In addition, it offers a natural space where you can enjoy the hills, the local flora and various outdoor activities.
Finally, we visited the Grotto of the Virgin of the Valley, a place of great devotion and beauty, ideal for closing the tour with a moment of reflection and tranquility.
