In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by your expert guide and headed to the boarding point of the lake of your choice.
Nahuel Huapi is the most important lake in the National Park, giving its name to the park. Enormous in size and depth, it has seven different arms, each with changing characteristics. It is home to large trout, mainly rainbow and brown, and to a lesser extent, incredible brook trout. These large trout, although difficult to catch with a fly, represent a challenge. We use a motorboat to fish and tour this large lake using fly, spinning or trolling techniques.
Lake Gutierrez: is located 11 km from the city of Bariloche. This lake is a good fishing option on windy days, due to its unique location and bays protected from the wind. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and is an excellent fishing spot, being able to catch rainbow, brown and brook trout.
Lake Moreno is open for fishing all year round. It is located 16 km from the center of Bariloche and offers very good fishing for rainbow and brook trout. It is a wonderful place, where you can see magnificent residences on the coast, with the majestic frame of the Andes Mountains.
Upon arriving at the boarding point on the lake, your guide will explain the fishing techniques we propose for the excursion:
- Fly Fishing: This consists of casting flies – “dressed” hooks – which are imitations of insects, small fish, shrimp, etc., using a weighted line specifically designed for this purpose, using a certain precise technique. Without a doubt, this modality requires practice and dedication, just to get used to casting. However, this type of fishing is becoming more and more popular all over the world.
- Spinning: This fishing technique consists of throwing and collecting artificial lures such as spoons, simulating the movement of a small organism in the water, which the voracious trout attacks, if we manage to fool it.
- Trolling: The Nahuel Huapi National Park has many paradisiacal lakes where you can practice this type of fishing. We drag artificial lures at a slow speed from the motorboat while we enjoy spectacular landscapes.
Then, the excursion will begin, sailing on Lake Nahuel Huapi, Moreno or Gutiérrez and fishing with the technique chosen by you.
After two hours of fishing from the boat, you will arrive at the edge of the lake to enjoy a delicious lunch in nature. After a break, you will continue floating and fishing during the afternoon in the best spots that the lakes have to offer.
Always accompanied by your guide, you will learn the history of the San Carlos de Bariloche region and the best fishing options and fish that live in the region.
After 12 km of travel, your guide will take you to the lake departure site, where you will be met with the cars to take you back to your hotel.
