Details of Cruises

Day 01 - Wednesday:
Meeting point in the lobby of the Tropical Executive Hotel at 2:00 p.m. Board the Amazon Clipper and set off for the Amazon River while enjoying a welcome drink and learning about the ship`s routes and facilities. After a snack, meet in the leisure room for lectures on the Amazon, from which we can gain a better understanding of the ecology of the Amazon. Before dinner, there will be time to enjoy a caipirinha, Brazil`s national drink, while watching the sunset. After dinner, explore the streams and ponds and, with the help of a spotlight, look out for crocodiles and alligators, and sometimes even nighthawks, snakes, sloths, and frogs.

Day 02 - Thursday:
Early in the morning, explore the rivers and ponds in canoes and find birds that feed on fruit, such as parrots and toucans. After breakfast, go for a walk through the jungle, discovering surprising fragrances in the leaves, fruits, woods and animals. Around noon, I return and before lunch go swimming. In the afternoon, cruise through the Anavilhanas National Park, one of the largest freshwater archipelagos in the world. In the late afternoon, head out in canoes and learn more about the wonderful natural park.

Day 03 - Friday:
Early in the morning, spend some time fishing for piranhas and other fish. After breakfast, visit a community where we will find many typical fruits of the Amazon, such as cupuaçu and taperebá, palms such as açaí, tucumã and pupunha. Learn about the preparation of farinha de mandioca (cassava flour), as well as the local children`s health and education system. After lunch, stop at one of the beautiful white-sand beaches to swim in the dark water and watch for pink dolphins (not guaranteed). In the late afternoon, explore the area by canoe and watch for wildlife. Dinner will be served on the way to the Amazon River.

Day 04 - Saturday:
Early in the morning explore Lago January Ecological Park. This area is generally a great place to watch wildlife and see Vitória Regia, the giant water lilies. While we have breakfast, the boat will begin its navigation towards the "Meeting of the Waters", a unique spectacle where the murky waters of the Amazon and the dark waters of the Rio Negro flow together without mixing for several kilometers. Making the return trip, stop by Manaus, noting the floating docks, the market, the old customs house and the Opera dome, arriving around 11:30 AM at the Tropical Hotel Dock.
