Once there, we have the last chance to buy anything you think you might need. We continue going to Quishuarani (3,700 m), and from this point we will hike through lovely Andean towns, with beautiful alpacas and llamas around. With a gentle climb, we are going to arrive to Queuña Cocha Lake, place with amazing mountain views, and find a small but a pronounced climb, to the lunch spot. After recovering energy, we are going still walking downhill to Cuncani Community, but then, we have to ascent to Qolqecasa for 2 hours. Hiking around wonderful lakes and waterfalls, we will reach Yanacocha to spend the night in our campsite. Dinner and overnight. Distance traveled: 14 Km – Approximate time of walk: 6 to 7 hours.

Day 2 YANACOCHA-WAKAWASI-MANTANAY: After a warm breakfast, the trek will start to go to Chaqchapata (3,950 msnm), an amazing place with traditional people with Andean customs, and llamas and alpacas all over around. We will climb around 1:30 hours to our lunch spot called “Hierba Esponjosa”. After a well-deserved rest, we will continue to go up for 1:30 hours to the highest point Auroracasa (4,600 msnm). Enjoy and admire the incredible landscapes! After hiking for 2 hours, we will reach our campsite. Dinner and overnight. Distance traveled: 16 Km – Approximate time of walk: 7 to 8 hours.

Day 3 MANTANAY - YANAHUARA - AGUAS CALIENTES: After breakfast, we will depart at 07:30 am to go downhill around incredible mountains, with special views to Maras and Moray Salt Mines. You’ll feel how the weather changes, and you will have the opportunity to see agricultural crops in corn, potatoes and vegetable. The tour takes about 4 hours; after which it reaches the picturesque town of Yanahuara. After a delicious lunch, a bus will take you to Ollantaytambo train station, to board the train for 2 hours until Aguas Calientes. Accommodation, transfer and dinner are not included. Distance traveled: 12 Km – Approximate time of walk: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 4 AGUAS CALIENTES-MACHUPICCHU-OLLANTAYTAMBO: Very early in the morning, we will take the tourist bus to the citadel entrance, and we will finally be in one of the wonders of the world. Machu Picchu will be all yours (if you walk) because you will be the first to arrive there; Even before the Inca trail of the trekers! Once there, if you are at the right time, you will enjoy the sunrise and begin the guided tour of 2 hours, where you will learn each secret, each story and each fact about the Inca citadel. We are going to visit Intiwatana, located on the top of Machu Picchu. After that, you can decide whether to climb the Huayna Picchu mountain (optional). Around 1 pm most people are ready. And take the bus back (we all end up very tired) to Aguas Calientes. There you can have lunch in any of the good restaurants or just relax waiting for the train and transport back to Cusco.
