The Puchuldiza Geysers excursion includes round-trip transportation from Iquique, access to the geysers and the Altiplano route, and the services of a professional tour guide who will provide valuable information throughout the tour. A complete experience is offered with stops at tourist attractions, allowing you to discover the local geography and culture. Additionally, some excursions may include snacks or lunch, but it is recommended to check with the tour provider to confirm all inclusions.
The best time to visit the Puchuldiza Geysers is during the dry season, which runs from May to September. During these months, the weather is more stable, with less rain, ensuring accessible trails and better conditions for enjoying the high plateau landscape. Furthermore, mornings are usually cool during these months, making it more likely to see the geysers at their peak. Therefore, it`s advisable to plan your trip during these dates to make the most of the experience without weather interruptions.
For the excursion to the Puchuldiza geysers and the high plateau route, it`s advisable to wear comfortable clothing suitable for sudden weather changes. Layers are recommended: a thermal shirt, a fleece jacket, and a windproof and waterproof jacket. Don`t forget a hat, gloves, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun and the intense cold in the morning. Also, wear comfortable and sturdy footwear, ideally hiking boots. It`s also important to bring sunscreen and a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
The Puchuldiza Geysers and Altiplano route can be challenging for people with reduced mobility due to the terrain and altitude. However, some tour operators offer special accommodations or services upon request. It`s important to contact the tour provider in advance to inform them of your specific needs and verify if they can provide assistance or adapted alternatives. This way, you can ensure the experience is as comfortable and safe as possible for all participants.
The Puchuldiza Geysers tour is generally suitable for all ages; however, it is recommended that participants be in good health and able to adapt to the considerable altitude. The geography and temperatures may present a challenge for very young children and the elderly. For family groups, it is advisable to consult with the tour provider for specific recommendations regarding group composition. Additionally, bringing sufficient supplies such as water, snacks, and sunscreen is essential to ensure the well-being of all participants during the tour.
