Rehabilitation facilities and reintroduction of wild animals into their habitat (known as Monkey Forest), were created in 1991 with the intention of receiving animals that have been confiscated from illegal trade. This is a joint project with the Municipal Secretariat of Environment and Sustainability. At this center, animals are initially quarantined to be evaluated and cared for by a team of veterinarians and biologists. In collaboration with the FFV (Live Forest Foundation), a non-profit institution overseen by Amazon Ecopark Lodge, a unique feeding system has been developed. Twice a day (10:30 and 15:30), the animals receive supplements from their natural diet, ensuring that they are receiving the necessary nutrients.
The Monkey Forest is open to visitors at eat, always accompanied by an accredited professional, allowing guests to film and photograph these animals in a natural and safe environment. In the end, the monkeys may not appear; There are natural factors (breeding season, heavy rains) that can interfere with the presence of monkeys. Duration: 40 minutes to 1 hour.
