From the hotel we will leave by bus towards the East along the glacial valleys that run through the forests and National Route Nº3.
Around 10:15 am we will reach the river Lasifashaj where we will have a technical safety instructionand we will be given rubber boots, trouser covers, life jackets, paddles and a very stable and safe canoe. We will begin our navigation of approximately 1:30 hours through the Guaraní Pass of the Beagle Channel. While we paddle, we will see the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego where we will have unique panoramic views, we will enjoy the sounds of wildlife, we will see a large number and variety of birds and, probably the curious sea lions.
At 12:00 pm we will arrive at the coast to board a motor boat and navigate Martillo Island for 30 minutes. During navigation we will have the possibility of spotting Magellanic and gentoo penguins from very close up.
12:30 we arrive To Gable Island, our guide will tell us why today the island represents the first history of Tierra del Fuego prior to the founding of the city of Ushuaia. In one of the first colonial buildings, in a modest stall in the ranch we will enjoy a good lunch cooked to order, with a good Patagonian red wine and a huge, peaceful view. After dessert and a coffee, around 1:45 pm we will go to explore the island on an interpretive walk to the forests of lengas, coihues, ñires and cinnamon trees among beaver dams, vestiges of the passage of the Yámana and the Anglican missionaries. At 3:00 pm we will arrive at the south coast of Gable Island, we will have a totally unusual panoramic view of the Beagle Channel from the high viewpoint of the "gables" , a glacial formation.
Approximately at 4:15 pm we will sail for 45 minutes towards the Harberton ranch . There our bus will be waiting for us to begin our return to the city of Ushuaia. On the way we will make a brief stop at the flag tree to take photographs and at 6:00 pm we will arrive in Ushuaia.
Those who do not wish to venture or exert themselves physically on the canoe trip can opt for an extended and thorough visit of the main house area of the ranch Harberton. At the end of this visit, we will be able to sail to Gable and Martillo Islands to see the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins.
