From the hotel, we willdepart by bus to the East through the glacial valleys that run through the forests and National Route No. 3.
Around 10:15 am we will arrive at the Lasifashaj River where we will have a technical safety briefing. and we will be given rubber boots, cover pants, life jackets, paddles and a very stable and safe canoe. We will begin our navigation of approximately 1:30 hours through the Guaraní Passage of the Beagle Channel. While we paddle, we will see the Isla Grande of Tierra del Fuego where we will have unique panoramic views, we will enjoy the sounds of wildlife, we will see a large quantity and variety of birds and, probably the curious sea lions.
At 12:00 pm we will arrive at the coast to board a motorboat and sail for 30 minutes around Martillo Island. During the navigation we will have the chance to see Magellanic and Gentoo penguins up close.
12:30 we arrive at Gable Island, our guide will tell us why today the island represents the first history of Tierra del Fuego before the founding of the city of Ushuaia. In one of the first colonial buildings, in a modest stand of the estancia we will enjoy a good lunch cooked at the moment, with a good Patagonian red wine and a vast and peaceful view. After dessert and coffee, around 1:45 pm we will go on an interpretive walk around the island through the forests of lengas, coihues, ñires and canelos between beaver dams, vestiges of the passage of the Yámana and the Anglican missionaries. At 3:00 pm we will arrive at the southern coast of Gable Island, we will have a totally unusual panoramic view of the Beagle Channel from the high viewpoint of the "gables", a glacial formation.
At approximately 4:15 pm we will take a 45-minute sail towards the Harberton ranch. There our bus will be waiting for us to begin our return to the city of Ushuaia. Along the way, we will make a brief stop at the flag tree to take photographs and at 6:00 pm we will arrive in Ushuaia.
Those who do not wish to venture out or push themselves physically on the canoe trip can opt for an extended and detailed visit to the area of the main house of the Harberton ranch. After this visit, we can sail towards Gable and Martillo Islands to see the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins.
