We will leave from the hotel in the morning to the Lakes on the famous route 3 that runs part of the Fueguino Mountain Range, which allows us to access the Paso Garibaldi. From here, we can see the Escondido and Fagnano lakes.
We will begin the descent, leaving the conventional route to follow the old loggers' footprints. The 4x4 trucks will help us in this expedition, reaching places where access would be impossible otherwise. We will pass through forests, following mud roads, stones, and bypassing different challenges that cross our path. We will finally arrive at the impressive Fagnano Lake, which will surprise us with its size and the incredible landscape that surrounds it.
We will make a stop at Lake Fagnano, where we will taste a delicious Asado. While the guides prepare lunch, we can take a walk through the area to explore the forest and the beaver's dams that are currently part of the local landscape.
After lunch we will continue our adventure, this time going through a route that surrounds Lake Fagnano to reach Lake Escondido. This lake is smaller than the previous one, but it will dazzle us in the same way with its incomparable natural setting.
If we take the excursion in summer, we can do some canoeing on Lake Escondido. First we will have an introductory talk with our guides, we will prepare the canoes and finally, we will paddle by the lake. We will enjoy the landscape of this place in a different way, letting ourselves be surprised by the view of the water. After 45-minute canoeing, we will return to the point where the trucks were left to return to Ushuaia on National Route 3.
If instead, we do the excursion in winter, we will have our lunch in a winter shelter. While the guides are preparing lunch, we can walk around or have fun on the sliding sled track.
After lunch we will visit the winter center Tierra Mayor, where we will have time to explore the place and carry out additional activities such as snowmobiles, sleds pulled by huskies, skiing or ice skating. Also if we wish we can stay in the warm inn contemplating the impressive snowy Valley.
After having fun in the winter center, we will be going back to our vehicles to return to Ushuaia.
