To help you organize this trip, we offer two types of tours: one that includes a bus ride followed by a train ride, and another that only includes a train ride.
*BUS + TRAIN OPTION TO THE CLOUDS: The meeting will be in the Plaza Antofagasta at 6.00am. There the trip check-in will take place; Remember to have your documentation and your previously purchased ticket.
The stops to be carried out during the tour are:
07.35 hs: Campo Quijano, 30km from the capital. There you can see the most emblematic engineering work of Salta: the C-14 railway branch. vertical-align: baseline; -wrap;">08.05 hs:Viaduct Bull, located on the ravine that bears the same name.
09.25 am: The Alfarcito, a place at 2,800 meters above sea level, where the tradition of making local crafts is kept alive. Here you can enjoy a country breakfast and we will visit the craft fair. We will also visit the Father Chifri Foundation, an organization that helps raise funds and provides education and training to the local people.
This will be our last stop before arriving at San Antonio de los Cobres.
11:40 am: The meeting at the train station and boarding the emblematic Train to the Clouds. At 12 o`clock the train journey begins.
13.00 hs:Polvorilla Viaduct, the most recognizable image from this trip. It is the highest structure of the C-14 railway branch, at more than 4,200 meters above sea level. font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; -wrap;">2:45 p.m. and where you will have two hours to walk and photograph the place.
4:30 p.m.: Return begins. After an hour of travel, the last stop will be in the town of Santa Rosa de Tastil, where one of the largest archaeological sites in our country is located, it is estimated that it once housed approximately 3,000 people.
*OPTION ONLY TRAIN TICKET TO THE CLOUDS: This option is perfect if you want to do your own road trip; so you won`t miss out on the train experience or pay an extra charge for a bus ride you won`t use.
