Dreamy Victoria Island Day Trip

Reviews

Absolutely loved this tour. Smooth boat ride across Nahuel Huapi, super clear water and epic mountain views. The walk on Victoria Island among those pale rock formations felt otherworldly—easy pace, plenty of photo stops. Guide was fun and informative, timing spot-on. Tangol handled everything hassle-free. Would 100% recommend for a laid-back day.

This excursion in Bariloche combines a boat trip on Lake Nahuel Huapi with an interpretive hike on Victoria Island (Piedras Blancas area). It typically includes: round-trip boat fare, a bilingual guide specializing in nature tourism, a hike along marked trails through native forests, time for photos at viewpoints, and basic insurance. The total duration is approximately 5 to 7 hours, including boarding and disembarking at Puerto Pañuelo (Llao Llao). It generally does not include: port/boarding fees, entrance to Nahuel Huapi National Park, meals and drinks, or transfers to the port, unless you select the pick-up option. The itinerary may vary due to Patagonian weather and conservation efforts.
The difficulty level of the tour to Piedras Blancas on Victoria Island is easy to moderate: forest trails with natural terrain, some gentle slopes, and sections of steps. It is suitable for active travelers, families with children (generally over 6 years old), and seniors in good physical condition. It is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, strollers, or those unable to walk moderate distances; please check accessibility before booking. Pregnant women and people with heart or respiratory conditions must obtain medical authorization. The guide sets a leisurely pace with stops for environmental interpretation and photography, prioritizing safety, the nature experience, and enjoyment of the scenery.
The Patagonian weather is changeable: you can experience sun, wind, and drizzle all in the same day. For this excursion in Bariloche, pack layers: a technical t-shirt, a fleece jacket, and a waterproof/windproof jacket. Hiking boots with good grip are essential for the trails. Also pack a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, energy snacks, cash for entrance fees, ID, and a camera or phone with a charged battery. In winter, add gloves, a neck warmer, and thermal socks; in summer, lightweight clothing and, if permitted by the tour operator, a swimsuit for authorized beaches. Trekking poles are optional. Avoid heavy bags to ensure a comfortable and safe hike.
The usual meeting point is Puerto Pañuelo, in the Llao Llao area (approximately 25 km from downtown Bariloche). It is recommended to arrive 30–45 minutes early to check in, pay taxes, and board calmly. There are morning departures and, depending on the season and availability, afternoon departures as well. Schedules may be adjusted due to conditions on Lake Nahuel Huapi and winds, so the final confirmation will be shown on your travel voucher. Some operators offer optional transfers from hotels in downtown Bariloche for an additional fee. You must bring your ID/passport and booking confirmation. The return trip is to the same port. Plan your transportation (private car, transfer, or car) in advance during peak season.
The price of the tour to Isla Victoria (Piedras Blancas) varies depending on the season (high/low), type of service (regular/private), and availability. Generally, the boarding fee and entrance fee to Nahuel Huapi National Park are paid separately. You can book online with secure payment; sailing spaces are limited, so it`s advisable to book in advance, especially during holidays and weekends. Cancellation policies usually allow changes or refunds free of charge up to 24–72 hours prior to departure; after that, penalties may apply. If weather conditions prevent sailing (strong winds, rough seas, or snow), the operator will reschedule the excursion or offer alternatives/a refund according to their current terms and conditions.
