In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Bariloche to take you to Cerro Otto. Once you arrive at the winter resort, the groups will be divided according to the chosen activity and an instructor will begin to provide explanations and the itinerary for the day.
Nordic Ski Day
Nordic (or cross-country) skiing is a winter sport that can be practiced by most people. It can be done from childhood onwards and does not require great physical fitness. The main difference with respect to alpine skiing is that it is not practiced on slopes, but on flat or undulating terrain, making it less dangerous and easier to learn. It is, therefore, a good way to get in touch with the snow for those who have never done winter activities before.
This activity consists of a group class, lasting approximately an hour and a half, and is very participatory and ideal for doing with family or friends. After teaching the skiers the first steps, the instructor accompanies them along the slopes on a tour through the forest to viewpoints with excellent views.
In the first stage of the class, the movements are taught in a polygon with very little slope, so that the skiers gain confidence with the activity. Then, the instructor will take them along the beginner`s slope through the lenga forest, which has undulations and beautiful views of Lake Nahuel Huapi throughout its extension. At the end of the slope, you can access a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the lake, where you can take photos.
After the lesson, you can continue skiing until a few minutes before the shuttle that will take you back to your hotel leaves.
The center has around 10 kilometers of slopes of different levels. Those intended for beginners have marked tracks where classic Nordic skiing is practiced along their entire length.
Once the activity is over, you can continue enjoying the snow and admiring the landscapes until a few minutes before the shuttle that will take you back to your hotel leaves.
