It is the most important river within the National Park, it offers different fishing possibilities for novice or advanced fishermen. The Limay River is excellent for dry fly fishing during November to March. During April, huge trout migrate from the large lake to the river to start the breeding cycle. The Limay has five different sections, about 12 km each within the area near San Carlos de Bariloche, offering a variety of excursions.
Arriving at the embarkation point on the Limay River, your guide will explain the two fishing techniques that we propose for the excursion:
- Fly Fishing (or Fly fishing): Consists of throwing flies – hooks “dressed” - which are imitations of insects, small fish, shrimp, etc, using a weighted line specifically designed for this purpose, through a certain precise technique. Without a doubt, this modality requires practice and dedication, just to get used to the launch. However, this type of fishing is becoming more popular every day around the world.
- Spinning: This fishing technique consists of throwing and picking up artificial lures such as spoons, simulating the movement of a small organism in the water, which the voracious trout attacks, if we can deceive her.
Then, the excursion will begin, sailing on the Limay River and fishing with the technique chosen by you.
After two hours fishing From the boat, you will arrive at the riverside to enjoy a delicious lunch in nature. After a break, you will continue floating and fishing during the afternoon in the best places that the < b>Limay River can offer.

The fishing season begins each year on November 1 and ends within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, North Patagonia.
