Nature and Wildlife Birding Wildlife watching Boat tour

The tour includes land and river transportation from Iquitos, accommodations in a jungle lodge, all meals during the stay, expert-guided wildlife viewing excursions, including birdwatching and pink dolphins, and all reserve entrance fees. Canoeing and fishing equipment is also provided. The lodge is equipped with basic amenities to ensure a comfortable experience in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. Importantly, the guides are ecotourism specialists, ensuring an educational and sustainable experience.
It is recommended to wear lightweight, neutral-colored clothing to facilitate wildlife viewing without disturbing the surroundings. It is suggested to bring long-sleeved shirts and pants for protection against insects and vegetation. Don`t forget to pack a good insect repellent, sunscreen, and a cap or hat. A light raincoat is essential due to the rainy nature of the jungle. Binoculars for bird and wildlife observation, as well as a flashlight with extra batteries, are also highly recommended. Comfortable, waterproof footwear is essential for hiking in wet terrain.
The best time to visit the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve depends on your interests. The dry season, from June to October, offers drier conditions for trekking and outdoor activities. However, during the wet season, from November to May, rivers are at their highest, facilitating access to remote areas and increasing wildlife viewing opportunities. Both seasons offer unique biodiversity experiences, so we recommend considering your personal preferences when planning your trip. Each season has its own charm and opportunities for exploration.
The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve hike is designed to be accessible to most people, but physical activity levels may vary. Participants are advised to be prepared for hiking on uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. Hiking can be tailored to individual abilities, but it is advisable to assess your physical condition before traveling. Families with children often enjoy the experience, provided proper care and supervision are provided during the activities. Prior communication with the organizers will help accommodate individual needs.
All tours to the Lodge in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve promote ecotourism, ensuring that practices are respectful of the environment and local communities. Guides are experts in environmental management and practice leave-no-trace policies, in addition to educating visitors on the importance of conserving the Amazonian ecosystem. The lodge collaborates with indigenous communities, encouraging their participation and benefiting from sustainable local tourism. You are encouraged to follow best practices and adhere to guidelines during your visit to minimize your ecological impact.
