Details of Day Tours

Our tour begins with a pick-up at 2:30 pm from centrally located hotels in San Fernando del Valle, Catamarca. We are ready for a 140 km trip that will take us to discover some of the most emblematic places in the region.

Our first stop is the Grotto of the Virgin, a sanctuary where the image of Our Lady of the Valley was found around 1620. This place is the epicenter of the Marian faith that characterizes our province.

We continue our journey through the mountains that frame the Catamarca Valley to the west. We enter the El Tala River Gorge, following a winding road that offers us changing and surprising landscapes. Thus, we arrive at the summer town of El Rodeo, known for its unique microclimate. Here, walnut trees, hydrangeas and the crystal-clear waters of the rivers that run through it invite us to a well-deserved rest.

After enjoying the tranquility of El Rodeo, we begin the return trip along the same provincial route No. 4. Our path takes us through the Ambato route until we reach La Puerta. From there, we take Route No. 1, passing by the imposing Pirquitas Dam, before returning to the city of Catamarca.
