Details of Travel Packages

Arrival at Bariloche airport where you can pick up the rental car.

From there, we recommend heading towards Villa Traful, where your accommodation is located. Located 100 km north of Bariloche, you will drive for approximately 2 hours until you reach Villa Traful, a town built within of the Nahuel Huapi National Park almost exclusively to offer tourist infrastructure to the incredible attractions located in the surroundings and that now you will have the possibility to visit.

When you arrive at your hotel and after check in, you will be able to see your room and leave your bags.

Depending on the schedule and sunlight, we recommend visiting the Mirador del Lago Traful, located just 5 minutes from the accommodation. The place has a small area to park, from where you can ascend via stairs that lead to two large balconies. These platforms are located under the Carpa hill, on an imposing rocky wall that falls directly into the Traful lake. The view of the cliff is impressive and allows you to have a panoramic view of the crystalline waters of the lake, In addition, you can identify some peaks of the mountain range that are located behind the viewpoint, such as the Monje hill, 1900 meters, and the Negro, 2000 meters. In front, is the Traful peak, 2098 meters, and Alto Mahuida, with some snow on top.

Night at Villa Traful

Accommodation Options:

After breakfast, you will have the rest of the day to visit some of the attractions that this beautiful town in Patagonia offers.

Our recommendation is that you do the Navigation to the Submerged Forest (not included).

Starting from the Villa dock, the boat sails through the waters of Lake Traful and during the trip you will be able to see the high walls of the cliffs that are on the side of the lake and the caves that formed in the walls where the water is an incredible dark blue.

After 90 minutes, you will reach the main attraction: a cypress forest nestled on the water. These trees used to settle on the hillside of Cerro Bayo but due to a movement of the earth they were uprooted and dragged, until they were deposited on the bed of Lake Traful. Incredibly, this group of trees remained upright. On the surface of the lake, the tips of cypress trees appear, some reaching more than 20 mts.  high, and light gray in color due to sun exposure and water. Thanks to the transparency of the Lake, you can see the roots and trunks.

For the more adventurous, Diving, Kayaking and Trekking activities can be performed on site (we recommend booking these activities in advance).

Night at Villa Traful

On this day, our recommendation is to do the 10 KM trek to Cerro Negro and Cerro Monje (only for people in good physical condition).

The starting point is located near the tourist information office and in the first section you walk in a forest populated by Coihues and Ciprés along with other species typical of the region.

As you advance, the ascent is heavier, at 1500 meters above sea level you will reach the" Nose "of the hill. The vegetation begins to decrease in quantity and size, with the Ñire standing out. grows among other plants. From this height, the first thing you can see are the Cerro Negro towers, which you climb around them on the left side.

The summit is at 1900 masl and is indicated by a monolith.

From the top of the hill and descending you can access that of Cerro Monje, the landscape that is displayed is unique, typical of glacial valleys, surrounded by mountains in this case the Cordillera de los Andes, Lake Traful in all its splendor and volcanoes in Chile and Argentina. From there the final descent to the town begins.

For those who want to do other activities, we recommend:

Laguna Las Mellizas navigation and visit to the Rock Paintings

Walk the Artisan Route

Activities at Traful Lake

Fishing Day

Bird Watching

Night at Villa Traful

After breakfast, we will depart for Villa Meliquina, another hidden gem of Argentine Patagonia.

We recommend going west on Route 65 until reaching Route 40 and then heading north, in this way you will be able to do part of the famous Route of Seven Lakes.

This route is considered one of the main attractions of this area, so if you start the road early in the morning, you can take time to walk it and make stops at the viewpoints that offer views panoramic views of each lake, and even, in summer, relax in one of the spas.

Internationally recognized for its incomparable beauty, the Route of the 7 Lakes connects the Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Correntoso, Espejo and Nahuel Huapi lakes.

On route 40 we recommend hiking to the Ñivinco Waterfall: a low difficulty trail that leads to the Ñivinco waterfall, in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park.

On the side of the route, there is the vehicle parking lot and a few meters away, a gate that starts this peaceful 45-minute walk (the path has an extension of approximately 4 km.).

This walk is rewarded with a 200 meter long beach and a 10 meter high waterfall. green color.

Back in the vehicle, on route 63 to the east, you will take the detour that will take you to Villa Meliquina.

The total trip between Villa Traful is 85 km (2 hours approximately) but depending on the stops you make, it can become a full day trip.

Once in Meliquina, you will check in at your accommodation.

Night at Villa Meliquina

On this day we offer you two options, if you want to relax and take the day to enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings, you can visit the Meliquina Lake spa nestled in a small valley and surrounded by mountains

In summer, there is a  parador with gastronomic services and rental of kayak, canoes, SUP boards, Paraguayan hammocks and lounge chairs.

The second option is to visit the Pozones de Caleufú, located 30 minutes by car from Meliquina on Route 63. These were formed in the course of the Caleufu river that rises at the junction of the rivers Filo Hua Hum and Meliquina and crossing the eroded stone formed pools in which you can dive, swim and be dragged by the current of the river.

Night at Villa Meliquina

Early in the morning, you will start your journey back to Bariloche. The trip is south on route 63 (58 km) until you reach route 237 (69 KM). After 2.30 Approximate hours of travel you will reach the City of San Carlos de Bariloche.

After checking in at the hotel, you will have free time to explore the city or simply relax at the hotel.

If you arrived around noon, we recommend taking the Small Circuit tour in your vehicle, a 60 km trip from the center of Bariloche that runs through the main attractions that surround the city:

The Llao Llao Municipal Forest that has a path to enjoy on foot to the shore of Lake Moreno, Lake Escondido that is reached after walking a short path and that has a Panoramic Point from where you can see the best known postcard of the city.

You can also climb Cerro Campanario (optional) via chairlifts that lead to the summit, where you can reach incredible views.

Then the route continues to the area where the Llao-Llao Hotel is located and very close is the San Eduardo Chapel, and Puerto Pañuelo.

You walk through the Bahía López area, where the rocky walls of the López and Capilla hills are imposed. An obligatory stop is the Panoramic Point from where you can see the privileged image of the Llao peninsula Llao and the lakes that surround it.

Night in Bariloche

After breakfast and check out at your hotel, you will have the rest of the day free until the time of your return flight, when you must return your vehicle at the Bariloch airport
