The place has a small area to park, from where you can ascend via stairs that lead to two large balconies. These platforms are located under the Carpa hill, on an imposing rocky wall that falls directly into the Traful lake. The view of the cliff is impressive and allows you to have a panoramic view of the crystalline waters of the lake, In addition, you can identify some peaks of the mountain range that are located behind the viewpoint, such as the Monje hill, 1900 meters, and the Negro, 2000 meters. After breakfast, you will have the rest of the day to visit some of the attractions that this beautiful town in Patagonia offers.
Our recommendation is that you do the Navigation to the Submerged Forest (not included).
Starting from the Villa dock, the boat sails through the waters of Lake Traful and during the trip you will be able to see the high walls of the cliffs that are on the side of the lake and the caves that formed in the walls where the water is an incredible dark blue.
After 90 minutes, you will reach the main attraction: a cypress forest nestled on the water. These trees used to settle on the hillside of Cerro Bayo but due to a movement of the earth they were uprooted and dragged, until they were deposited on the bed of Lake Traful. Incredibly, this group of trees remained upright. On the surface of the lake, the tips of cypress trees appear, some reaching more than 20 mts. high, and light gray in color due to sun exposure and water. Thanks to the transparency of the Lake, you can see the roots and trunks.
