Our adventure begins around 8:00 am with the pick up at your hotel, located in downtown Bariloche.
We will head towards Kilometer 22.5 along the Circuito Chico route, There we will find the entrance to the path, which starts to the left of Arroyo López. The first meters, bordering the stream, rise slightly through a wooded area and then become a steeper path with the presence of roots and loose stones, so it will be necessary to see where you are standing and wear suitable footwear. The vegetation will become thicker with the constant ascent, until we reach a ridge where we will find a panoramic point of view, we will obtain the first views of the Perito Moreno Oeste lake and the Nahuel Huapi lake.
After an hour of walking we will arrive at Roca Negra refuge , car stop and ideal place to recharge. After a short rest we will skirt the refuge and take the car path for a few meters until we find again the trail markings that will take us back to Arroyo López. If Arroyo López has little water flow (towards the end of summer) it can be easily crossed by stones, otherwise you have to wade through it (there is no bridge).
The path continues zigzagging in its last section and alternate paths emerge without clarity of which it is the main one, however, all end up arriving at the shelter. Finally, after 4.4 km of walking, we will arrive at the López Refuge , right on the edge of the coigues and cypresses forest. We will enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Nahuel Huapi, the city of Bariloche and part of Cerro Tronador.
In the López Refuge area we will stop to have lunch, take photos, enjoy the view and regain strength. The return to the starting point is done in the same way.
The services will end with the drop off at your hotel around 04:00 pm.
