A Walkable Prado Base With Beaches, Cafés, and Great Value

Reviews

Pousada Da Barra Prado

Prado’s beach and historic center were practically on our doorstep at Pousada da Barra. From Rua São Benedito, I could walk to the waterfront in five minutes and reach the main square’s cafés without a taxi; a short drive took us to Tororão Beach and its viewpoint. The room was simple but spotless, with reliable air-conditioning and a surprisingly good breakfast of warm pão de queijo and fresh papaya. For the price, this location and friendly service were excellent value.

A walkable birthday stay with wonderfully speedy arrivals and departures in Cumuruxatiba

Reviews

Hotel Cumuruxatiba

Celebrating my birthday here as a solo backpacker was such a treat. Cumuruxatiba’s beach, little restaurants, and shops were all an easy walk from the hotel, so I barely used transport. Check-in took under five minutes (keys were ready with a welcome coconut water), and checkout was just as quick. I left relaxed and genuinely grateful.

A Friendly, Central Stay With Excellent Value

Reviews

Casarao Da Terra

As part of our Tangol tour, we spent several nights at Casarao da Terra and found it excellent value for money. The room was simple but spotless, with a comfortable bed and reliable air conditioning. The staff were genuinely kind; one morning, a receptionist packed us fruit and coffee when we left early for an excursion. Its central Prado location made restaurants and shops easy to reach. We would happily stay again.

Pão de queijo, kind staff, and seaside meals made my stay

Tri Hotel Praia Grande

After a long day exploring Praia Grande, TRI Hotel’s breakfast became my happy ritual. Warm pão de queijo, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, and strong coffee kept this solo backpacker moving. The staff were genuinely lovely—Marina even packed me a banana when I left early for the airport. Dinner suggestions were spot-on too, especially the nearby seafood.

Quiet Nights, Easy Walks Downtown

Reviews

Barril

Staying at BARRIL during the low season was a lovely surprise. My friend and I were traveling together, and the location made Primavera do Leste wonderfully easy to explore on foot: cafés, small shops, and the central square were all just a few minutes away. Despite being on Avenida Cuiabá, our room was remarkably quiet, with no traffic noise at night. We even heard birds at sunrise. The lobby’s little coffee corner opened early, which was perfect before our morning outings. A peaceful, practical base.

A spotless, cozy base within walking distance of Punta Arenas sights, restaurants, and waterfront strolls

Hostal Ventisqueros

After a wonderful summer trip through Punta Arenas, Hostal Ventisqueros was such a practical find for my teenage daughter and me. We could walk to Plaza Muñoz Gamero, the waterfront, restaurants, and tour pickup points without needing taxis. Our room was spotless and genuinely comfortable, with crisp white bedding, a surprisingly supportive mattress, and plenty of hooks for drying layers after windy excursions. I also appreciated the quiet at night and the neatly tiled bathroom, which looked freshly cleaned every day. It made returning after exploring feel easy and relaxing.
