Wine Tasting - The Uruguayan Tannat Highlights

In this unique opportunity, we will visit one of the most important winery of the country, which can be Spinoglio, Pizzorno, Juanico, Marichal, Artesana or Antigua Stagnari.

Uruguayan wine is cultivated in a privileged geographical location where the lands are particularly suitable for the cultivation of vines, which makes it a wine-growing country par excellence. Thanks to this, in recent years, a large number of wineries have become internationally recognized.

In this opportunity we will visit a winery, where you will be able to learn, enjoy and feel with the five senses. It will be the turn of the Tannat, the varietal wine that started Uruguay's wine production on a commercial scale.
The Tannat wine expresses itself perfectly, but also presents combinations of particular characteristics, in cuts with other varieties.

You will have the possibility to choose between a tasting accompanied by cheeses and a tasting with a three-course lunch.

Details Day Tours

We hope you can join us to enjoy this true experience and learn about the world of Uruguayan wine.

After picking you up at your hotel, we will go to the winery chosen that day, all located on the outskirts of Montevideo.
Upon entering the cellar we can perceive the importance of the place. The faintest lights, fresh temperature, and above all the exquisite aroma of oak and wine.
The barrels are the cradles where the wines rest during their aging. The oak contributes to the wine typical flavors and aromas of the wood; as vanilla, chocolate, tobacco. In addition the porosity of the wood allows a micro oxygenation. This passage of oxygen generates chemical reactions between the tannins of the wine that soften it and make the wine maintain a good structure but with soft tannins in the mouth.

After the tour, we will begin with the wine tasting. We will be able to taste 4 types of wines paired with fine cheese.

If you chose the option with lunch, then you will be taken to the lounge where you wil l enjoy a 3-step lunch, which includes starter, main course (meat, pasta or fish) and dessert or coffee, accompanied with water and wine.
