DESTINATIONS

ITINERARY


DAY 1


AM: Arrival to Iquitos city: Our crew will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you in our comfortable and private transport. We will travel by paved road towards the city of Nauta, about 95 km. away, where they will embark on the Delfin I.


Once on board Dolphin I, qualified staff will receive and assist you to your comfortable and cozy suites, duly equipped and with all the comforts. While the Delfín I cruise starts navigation, you can enjoy the most fantastic panoramic view from the observation area elegantly equipped. 


Our bartender will be waiting to serve you an exotic snack made with fruits of the region and our beloved pisco, which is the national liquor of Peru flag. Then your naturalist guide will give you a general explanation of the cruise schedules, activities, routes, wildlife and vegetation to be aware, as well as the geographical and historical environment and other details important.



PM Dry Season: Our first excursion will be by boat and we will visit our first destination that is populated by sloths, iguanas and anteater. Birdwatchers will be pleased to see magnificent birds such as the Talking Paucar and the elegant Royal Herons. We will return to the cruise, and then have dinner. Overnight


PM Rainy Season: We will start a boat trip to the Marañon River until reaching a part called Pahuachiro. You will appreciate the beautiful sunset, while we look for monkeys and birds in the area. We will return to the cruise for dinner. At night, we will explore the Nauta Caño stream, to navigate the shore in search of alligators, insects and spiders. We return to cruise and overnight.



DAY 2


** DRY SEASON **


AM: Fundo Casual: This morning you we advised getting up early to appreciate wildlife. Always is well get up early since most animals are more active when it comes out Sun. This is the most important area of the Pacaya National Reserve Samiria; the walk in the Casual Fundo will take you on trails in the jungle tropical where you can find several animal species which you can interact.


PM: Yanayacu Pucate: In the afternoon, they will navigate the Yanayacu and Pucate rivers, appreciating different springs and lakes. This is one of the best preserved and protected areas of the Reserve Pacaya Samiria National. Your guide will be attentive to identify with accuracy of the biodiversity of the area and if time permits, also you will have the opportunity to swim in the river next to the famous pink dolphins!


At night we will do a night safari, and we will go to Yachay to look for alligators and nocturnal birds. We will return to the cruise for dinner, and overnight.



** RAINY SEASON **


AM: Early in the morning, we will visit Las Palmas to observe birds and lazy bears. After breakfast, we will make a boat trip to the Yanayacu and Pucate rivers. Explore the jungle by kayak or paddle board, or swimming with pink dolphins. We will return to the cruise, and then we will have lunch.


PM: In the afternoon, we will have a new boat adventure to visit the Amazon Natural Park. We will walk by this amazing place, and we will have the best view to appreciate life wild and vegetation that abounds in the jungle. We will return to the cruise for have dinner.


At night, we will have an excursion to Yachay. We will sail by boat along the shore, looking for alligators and nocturnal birds.



DAY 3


** DRY SEASON **


AM: Amazon National Park: Your morning will begin with an adventure trip to visit a private reserve with 8 bridges hanging, in the place where the canopy circuits are made. To reach there, they will have to walk through the forest, and paddle board in the tranquility of Lake Tahuampa, a dark water lake in which some live giant fish called Araipama and locally known as Paiches. 


With a little luck you can hear them jump and breathe the air of the morning. On the bridges they will be able to observe wildlife from the height of treetops, a totally different perspective.


PM: In the afternoon, we will visit a small community no more than 500 people, where we will learn from their customs and their rural and simple lifestyle. We will return to the cruise, and then we will have dinner. Overnight.



** RAINY SEASON **


AM: We will take our breakfast as picnic to our boat trip, to navigate the Yanyaquillo River. This protected area of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, is a place crowded by pink dolphins. Also, we will practice sport fishing with piranhas. We will return to the cruise to rest, and then enjoy an amazing lunch.


PM: In the afternoon, we will start this excursion by boat to go to Caño Piraña. Explore by kayak or skiff this wonderful jungle area, and try to visualize animals that live around. When you return to the cruise, you will have free time to enjoy your comfortable facilities. Dinner and overnight.



DAY 4


** DRY SEASON **


AM: In the morning, we will explore the Rio Yarapa, with beautiful landscapes and appreciating the wildlife of birds and animals in general. We will return to the cruise to later have lunch, and take a break.


PM: After lunch, we will visit the confluences of the Amazon River, where we can appreciate the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, the birthplace of the Amazon River. We return to cruise. Then, have dinner and overnight.



** RAINY SEASON **


AM: After breakfast, we will visit on skiffs the community of Puerto Miguel. You will know this beautiful community, with very friendly people, and you will visit a school where the children will give you a warm welcome. We will visit the local handicraft market. Return to the cruise to relax.


PM: We will visit Cumaceba, a lagoon hidden that is located downstream, and where you can appreciate the spectacular nature, with many flora and fauna. We will return to the cruise, and have dinner.


We will have a walking night excursion to visit Puerto Prado, to search frogs and birds, and various insects sizes and types.



DAY 5


In the port of Nauta, the land crew will be waiting for you to disembark, and you will travel in our comfortable and private transport, about 95 kilometers to Iquitos city.


On the way to the airport Iquitos, will visit the Amazon Rescue Center (ACOBIA) where they will have the opportunity to meet the Amazonian manatee babies and learn everything related to these wonderful and docile creatures, and why they are in danger of extinction. In addition, they will know how to feed and caress them. 


We will transfer you to Iquitos airport, so you can take your next flight on time.

* Malaria and Yellow Fever vaccines for travelers visiting the region are not necessarily required but are highly recommended.
* We highly recommend passengers to take trip cancellation insurance, which would reimburse the cost of air tickets and non-refundable cruise payments.
* Inform food requirements at least 30 days before the date of shipment.
* We highly recommend the use of soft or flexible and lightweight suitcases that can be folded and stored in the cabin closet to make your stay more comfortable while you are cruising.
* In the visit to the River Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, it is optional to leave a donation for this organization and study center.
* There is no WIFI signal on cruise ships.
* Children over 7 years old are allowed.
WHAT TO BRING?

* Clothing: light and cool, blouses, long-sleeved shirts, swimsuits, shoes with soft rubber sole for the boat (rubber boots and rain pilots are provided by us), windproof jackets. The days are hot and humid while the night breeze is cool.
* Insects and Mosquitoes: We recommend taking Vitamin B or B-15 a few days before reaching the jungle. These vitamins are the best repellents against insect bites. Also, do not forget to bring conventional repellent and cream for bites.
* Other items: We suggest bringing sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, binoculars (very important to enjoy the fauna and flora), camera and additional batteries.
