San Andrés Bay boasts calm waters, free of waves and passing boats, making it one of the best environments in the Colombian Caribbean to learn wakeboarding from scratch. Practicing this sport here isn`t just another activity—it`s about stepping onto a board in the middle of the seven-colored sea , with the wind in your face and the Caribbean Sea as your only backdrop.
Your wakeboarding lesson begins on land with a theory session where the instructor explains the correct stance, balance, and basic techniques for standing up on the board. It`s the perfect time to ask questions, understand how to start the board, and prepare your body for what`s to come. Even if you`ve never done any water sports before, the theory is designed to give you confidence on the water.
Once in the water, professional guidance is constant. The instructor assesses your level from the very first attempt and adapts each exercise to your progress: from the initial position lying on the board, to the moment you manage to stand up and glide across the water, pulled by the boat. Every fall is part of the process—and in waters as calm and warm as those of the bay, getting up and trying again is the best part.
The departure point is Cotton Cay Pier (Police Pier), with availability from Monday to Sunday between 8:30 and 9:30 am . The activity lasts one hour and is suitable for ages 8 and up .
