Explore Antarctica By Air And Sea: 8-Day Adventure From Punta Arenas - Book Now!

This 8-day, 7-night voyage combines the excitement of a direct flight to Antarctica with the convenience of exploring the white continent aboard a modern expedition ship. It`s an innovative way to experience Antarctica, avoiding the traditional two-day crossing through the turbulent Drake Passage. Instead, you fly just two hours from Punta Arenas, in the far south of Chile, to King George Island, in the heart of Antarctica.

Once in Antarctica, you`ll board an exclusive boutique cruise, designed to provide an up-close and personal experience with this unique environment. The reduced-capacity boat allows you to reach remote locations inaccessible to larger vessels, optimizing landings and ensuring you can spend more time exploring on foot and observing the stunning local wildlife: penguins, seals, whales, and seabirds.

During the tour, you`ll sail among glaciers, fjords, and breathtaking landscapes, all while enjoying the comfort of the boat, with high-quality accommodations, excellent cuisine, expert-guided polar activities, and a relaxed atmosphere. It`s an all-inclusive experience that allows for total immersion without worrying about logistical details.

The program`s level of physical demand is low, although the cold temperatures and terrain conditions require adequate clothing. The trip begins before 2:00 PM on the first day (time to be confirmed) and ends at 12:00 PM, after breakfast on the last day.

This expedition is designed for those who dream of discovering Antarctica in a different way: faster, more comfortable, and deeply unforgettable.

The classic Antarctic exploration cruise aboard the Ocean Nova offers a unique and unforgettable experience. It includes round-trip flights between Punta Arenas and King George Island, onboard accommodations, all meals, soft drinks, and a full program of shore excursions with expert guides. It also offers educational lectures and activities to enjoy the stunning Antarctic landscape. An enriching experience is guaranteed, combining the comfort of a cruise with the adventure of exploring the most remote continent on the planet.
The best time to visit Antarctica is during the southern summer, which runs from November to March. During these months, temperatures are milder, ranging from -2°C to 8°C, and weather conditions are more stable, allowing for safer and more enjoyable navigation. This is also the period when Antarctic wildlife is most active; you`ll be able to see penguins, seals, and whales in their natural habitat. These optimal conditions ensure that your experience is as enriching and memorable as possible.
Generally, no special visa is required to visit Antarctica, as it is not part of any country. However, to reach the embarkation point in Punta Arenas, Chile, it is important to check the country`s entry visa requirements. Tourists must have a valid passport and, if necessary, obtain a Chilean visa. It is advisable to confirm these regulations before traveling, as they may vary depending on the visitor`s nationality to ensure a smooth experience.
It is essential to wear clothing appropriate for the Antarctic climate. It is recommended to dress in layers to adapt to changing weather conditions. This includes thermal underwear, sweaters, and waterproof and windproof jackets. It is also crucial to bring waterproof pants, gloves, scarves, and thermal hats to protect yourself from the cold. Don`t forget sunglasses and sunscreen to counteract the glare from the ice. Additionally, it is recommended to wear rubber boots or raincoats, which are provided on board, for shore excursions.
Safety is a priority on the Antarctic cruise. The vessel is equipped with modern navigation and communication technology, ensuring a smooth and safe journey. The onboard staff is highly trained in emergency procedures and first aid. Before the voyage begins, a safety drill is conducted to familiarize passengers with protocols for unforeseen situations. Shore excursions are conducted with experienced guides and the necessary equipment to ensure the safety of all participants in the majestic Antarctic environment.
