Day 1: Trekking in the Enchanted Forest
We will leave from your hotel in Coyhaique or from the Balmaceda airport before 11 AM to begin a journey of approximately 170 km along the Northern Austral Highway to the Enchanted Forest.
This wonderful forest is located in the Queulat National Park, declared a National Park in 1983 by UNESCO due to the charm of its landscapes and the diversity of its fauna and flora. The Bosque Encantado is so called because green lichens called "barbas de viejo" hang from the ñirres, giving the place a mystical image.
We will travel approximately 1.7 km in total surrounded by this natural attraction of thousands of years, an evergreen forest covered with moss.
We will follow our way fording a water course to reach the Los Gnomos lagoon, which is located in a natural amphitheater. After enjoying the landscape, we will return to the vehicle to go to Puyuhuapi and make a brief tour of this city characterized by a mixture of German and Chiloé traditions. After the tour, we will go to our accommodation. (Lodge El Pangue or similar)
Day 2: Trekking Queulat National Park
After breakfast, we will head south along the Carretera Austral to Queulat National Park, where we will hike up 2200 meters through the woods to the Mirador. Here we will be able to observe the different waterfalls that come off the glacier, and if the weather is good, we will also be able to see the Queulat Glacier.
We will return by the same way, this time in descent, and we will enjoy our box lunch in the forest. We will return to the lodging in Coyhaique enjoying the beautiful landscapes, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. (Hotel El Reloj or similar).
