Our Day Trip to Colonia from Buenos Aires by Ferry is the perfect way to explore this historic and beautiful area.
Declared a World Heritage Site in 1995 by UNESCO, Colonia del Sacramento is rich in striking architecture. Wander down the cobbled streets and see beautiful scenery, Portuguese colonial-style buildings, Spanish-looking homes and incredible views of the Río de La Plata.
Our Day Trip to Colonia from Buenos Aires by Ferry begins at the ferry port (details above) at 7:15am where we’ll hop onto the Eladia Isabel and embark on our trip to Colonia at 8:15am. The ferry takes about 3 hours, and when we arrive we’ll be picked up and head for some lunch.
If you book the classic day tour, we’ll have lunch at the Yacht Club restaurant where we’ll be served the tourist menu. If you choose the premium day tour, we’ll head to the famous 5-star Radisson Hotel & Casino and have a first-class lunch with drinks included.
After a relaxing lunch we’ll start our tour round the city. We’ll visit the Barrio Historico with its countless museums, wander along the coast to Real de San Carlos and take a look at the Plaza de Toros. There, you’ll have some free time to explore yourself, have a merienda in the scenic local bars or get your hands on some souvenirs from the local craft stalls and shops.
At around 6pm we’ll be taken back to the port to board our boat, which leaves at 7pm. After an hour on the water we’ll be back in Buenos Aires, where our tour will come to a close at around 8pm.
