This walk through the city of Santiago will allow us to discover one of the most important cities of South America, full of contrasts and unique charms, within this modern city we will also have the opportunity to explore all of its rich history, the >vibrant culture and unique architecture, a mixture of our origins since colonization.
Here are some of the points we will visit during the tour.
The Plaza de Armas is the starting point of Chile, also called kilometer 0, is the historic heart of Santiago. Here you can admire the Metropolitan Cathedral and other historical buildings that surround the square such as the Municipality, the Post Office and the History Museum.
We will continue to the La Moneda Palace this iconic building is the presidential seat of Chile. You can learn about its history and architecture, as well as watch the changing of the guard if it coincides with the tour time.
Then we`ll head in the direction of lovely Barrio Lastarria, known for its bohemian atmosphere, cobbled streets, cafes, art shops, and culture. It is an ideal place for walking and exploring.
On one side of this picturesque neighborhood is Cerro Santa Lucía, if it is open and weather permitting we can go up to a natural viewpoint with gardens and paths that offer impressive panoramic views of the city and the Andes.

We`ll keep going up the capital until we reach the Bellavista Neighborhood, we will explore this vibrant neighborhood, famous for its lively nightlife, colorful murals and picturesque architecture. Here you will also find La Chascona, one of the houses of Pablo Neruda, the famous Chilean poet.
Inserted in this neighborhood we have one of the entrances to the Metropolitan Park and San Cristóbal Hill, the main green lung of Santiago. From the top, you will have panoramic views of the city and the iconic statue of the Virgin Mary, if you have time you can go back and go up Cerro San Cristóbal on the funicular or cable car, it is a beautiful walk that you can do on your own for a morning or afternoon.
Another of the iconic places in the capital is the Central Market , if you want to immerse yourself in the local culture and you like typical gastronomy, this is one of the most picturesque places in the city, it is characterized by its offer of fresh products such as fruits and vegetables but more importantly the fish and shellfish that arrive for be distributed in Santiago.
If you wanted to have lunch here is a good place, or maybe just try some appetizers (not included).
