Barra da Tijuca, popularly known as Barra, located at west Rio de Janeiro City. It is considered a gastronomic and entertainment center. In addition, the district of Barra has a high rate of development and has large green spaces, beautiful gardens, several luxurious urbanizations, large shopping centers and large IT companies, communication and advertising agencies as well as headquarters of large multinationals.

Barra da Tijuca beach is 14.4 kilometers long, it is the longest in the entire state and it is beautiful greenish blue color and due to their long length they form attractive tubular waves ideal for water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding and kitesurfing and also attracts lovers of the sport fishing. This is one of the beaches where most surf lessons are taught in Rio, for those who want to start practicing this sport.

Barra da Tijuca beach east side has many services such as restaurants, bars and barracks (kiosks), the most famous is Pepe's barrack, which is a meeting place for young people.

The western side of Barra de Tijuca beach, starting from Ayton Senna Avenue, it is almost virgin and does not have a promenade as it is located within an environmental protection area in the Marapendi Biological Reserve.

Barra da Tijuca beach is a beautiful and crystal clear beach with necessary amplitude for a real rest and meditation time.
