It is one of the most iconic mountains of Argentine Patagonia, located in the province of Neuquén, near the border with Chile.
The tour begins in the Lanín National Park, about 20 kilometers from San Martín de los Andes. The hike to the top is a difficult route, with an altitude of 3,776 meters above sea level and a length of 18 kilometers round trip.
As you progress, the landscape changes to rocks and glaciers, making the experience even more exciting. Trekking to the Lanín volcano is quite demanding, and requires a very good physical condition and adequate equipment. Climb time varies depending on weather and fitness level, but it usually takes 8-10 hours to reach the top.
From From the top, you will have an incomparable perspective: to the south, you will see the beautiful lakes Huechulafquen and Paimún, and if it is clear, the majestic Tronador; to the north, lakes Tromen and Quillén can be seen in the distance; while to the west, in Chilean lands, rises the impressive Villarrica volcano.
This mountain is the highest in the area, standing out from the majestic Andes Mountains due to its conical shape.
