For those who visit the City of Buenos Aires, public transportation is a great ally. Especially for those who are looking for an economical way to get around and want to have a close experience with the reality of the citizens. The extensive network of buses, supported by the subway and train lines, allows you to move around all the neighborhoods and even reach other nearby towns.

Of course, before To take any of these options, you must have the SUBE card (Single Electronic Ticket System) since no driver can accept cash. Let's see where to get it, how to charge it and its benefits.

Where to buy a SUBE

It is can be found at the so-called Puntos SUBE, which are kiosks, train and subway stations, lottery agencies and post offices.

In addition, those who arrive in Argentina by plane, through the Ministro Pistarini International Airport or the Jorge Newbery International Airport, can buy it at the Tourist Service stand.

It can also be requested through an online process. For that, you have to go to www.transporte.gob.ar. Users must fill out a form and receive the card at home.

How to register it

Once obtained the SUBE, it is recommended to register it. Attention: it is not necessary to do it to be able to use it.

This step is done in Tarjetasube.sube.gob.ar. It is used to see your latest movements, update contact information, report a SUBE Point, start procedures to recover your balance in case of theft, loss or breakage, among other things.

This last point is the greatest benefit of this procedure, since in case of losing it, the credit that was charged to the card is not lost.

How to load it

The SUBE is loaded at each point of sale. There are also kiosks that do not sell it but have the recharge system. Some businesses have self-service terminals, while in others, an employee of the premises is in charge of doing it.
Other options to put money into it are: at an ATM, by homebanking or through payment applications such as BNA+, Todo Pago, Mercadopago, Valepei, Ualá, NaranjaX, Movypay, among others.

If any of these is chosen, after loading it, the SUBE must be placed in an Automatic Terminal, generally they are in branches of Banco Nación, train terminal, community headquarters; or on a mobile connection device, which connects to your computer, cell phone or tablet.

This last step is necessary so that payment is credited.

On the other hand, it is important to know that the SUBE credit does not expire. In addition, each card has a backup balance. In other words, once the load is exhausted, you have the possibility of traveling until the negative balance ends.

Benefits

It is normal to take more than one public transport during the day. Therefore, if you make a second transfer within 2 hours, a discountof 50% is automatically made. If three are taken in the same period of time, the ticket costs 75% less.

In addition, retirees, ex-combatants, plan beneficiaries and domestic workers have a differential rate.
