This Argentine film explores the consequences of the military dictatorship in Argentina during the 1970s and 1980s. The plot centers on a history teacher played by Norma Aleandro, who begins to question her life and her beliefs when she discovers that her daughter adoptive could have been kidnapped during the dictatorship. The conflict addresses issues such as identity, justice and memory, taking a critical look at a fundamental part of Argentina's recent history. It is the first film from the country to receive the Best Foreign Film award at the Oscars.
