Cone of Arita, Salta

This pyramid is the great protagonist of the Salar de Arizaro, the third largest in the continent and which is located more than 3,000 meters above sea level in Salta.
 
Between the towns of Caipe and Tolar Grande and between kilometers and kilometers of black salt appears the imposing Cono de Arita. It is a geoform 200 meters high of volcanic origin. Several studies have shown that it is a volcano that was not strong enough to explode, so it does not have a crater.
 
Based on the remains found at the site, it is believed that The cone was a ceremony center for those who inhabited the area before the arrival of the Incas.

Cifuentes Waterfall, Buenos Aires

Also called Cascada de Aldaya, it is the highest waterfall in the Province of Buenos Aires. It reaches 8 meters in height. It is located in the lower course of the Río Quequén Salado, between the districts of Coronel Dorrego and Tres Arroyos.

Cerro Alcazar, San Juan

This geographical feature is located in the Calingasta department. Due to its landscape and geological features, it was declared a Natural Monument of the province of San Juan.

Its strange shape and color create a unique view, making it a obligatory stop for those who visit the area. 
The hill is made up of sedimentary materials whose past is dates back to the beginning of the Mesozoic era. Its colors are due to sediments from the Triassic age.





Pumice Stone Field, Catamarca

It is a site that leaves all its visitors dumbfounded. Its geography resembles “petrified waves”, with colors that vary depending on the time of day. They range from orange to yellow, to the typical white of the stone.

It is located in the department of Antofagasta de la Sierra, a 63 km from the town of Antofagasta and 10 km from the town of El Peñón, at an average height of 3,000 meters above sea level.

To get there, it is only possible to do in a 4×4 vehicle. If you don't have your own, there are excursions from the town of El Peñón, Antofagasta, in Belén, or from Santa María.





The Vulture, Rio Negro

30 km from the city of Bariloche, is the Cerro La Buitrera, a place that erupts with the harmonious mountainous landscape and the famous Lake Nahuel Huapi. 

In the middle of the steppe appears a rock formation known as La Buitrera.
This is a hill some 1,600 meters above sea level with numerous holes. The condors find a refuge in them.




Jordan River Hot Springs, Jujuy

In the course of the Jordan River and in the middle of the yunga of Jujuy, very close to the town of San Francisco, there are pools of an intense turquoise color with thermal water, whose minerals make it very beneficial for rheumatic and skin diseases.

The place can only be reached with authorized guides and at limited times. The summer season is the ideal time to get to know this natural beauty, since in winter there is usually snow. 





Pocho Volcanoes, Cordoba

Between the mountains and rivers, is one of the most unknown landscapes of our national territory. These are five extinct volcanoes. According to the latest studies carried out by researchers from the National University of Córdoba, the entire region used to be a large volcanic caldera, that is, although they are known as volcanoes, they are actually domes.

The main formation is the Ciénega, 1,300 meters high and conical in shape; the Poca hill, 1600 meters high, hidden between the so-called Blue hills; and the Yerba Buena, which with its 1,760 meters above sea level, is the highest point of the Sierras de Pocho.

The Pocho volcanoes are surrounded of the Caranday palm trees, generating a scenery that looks like that of some exotic place, despite being completely native to Córdoba.




Salto del Agrio, Neuquen

Although Caviahue is associated with winter tourism since its ski center has positioned itself as one of the most visited among Argentines, this destination is more than just snow. 

One of the most outstanding natural attractions is the Salto del Agrio. An imposing waterfall of about 45 meters, framed in a wide canyon formed by successive lava flows, due to the ancient volcanic activity in the area. 

The water falls into a kind of giant pot full of colors as a result of the minerals dragged by the water and the vegetation.





Devil's Bridge, Jujuy

In the town of Tres Cruces, between the Puna and the Humahuaca Gorge,  At 4,100 meters above sea level, there is a geological formation that is about 65 million years old.

In Puente del Diablo, he is the protagonist of a popular myth who maintains that the devil built it after saving three soldiers from his enemies. In exchange, he asked for their soul. 
However, according to experts, the natural bridge was formed by erosion from rain and strong winds.

Dunes of Tatón, Catamarca

This dune is 1,230 meters long, its base is 1,615 meters above sea level and its top is 2,845 meters above sea level.

Land of Colors, Santa Cruz

Next to the emblematic National Route 40, about 56 kilometers south of the town of Perito Moreno , a carved wooden sign announces the access portal to this secret attraction. 

In the middle of the plateau and steppe landscape, a giant crack opens, revealing the colors of the heart of the earth. The red, purple and pink contrast with the almost yellow ochre, the aqua green and even the white.

A path without difficulties invites you to walk through a colorful landscape that many consider “lunar ” although they have never been close to the star.
