This used to be one of the most elite neighborhoods in the City, but over the years it lost value. Today it is a place where the contrast of reality is in its streets. On the one hand, wide squares, stately residences, and tall buildings, and on the other, Barrio 31, an informal settlement of precarious houses.
This area is < b>strategically located for tourists. Since it is close to Recoleta, Microcentro, Puerto Madero and Jorge Newbery Airport.
It is also highly touristic. There is the Kavanagh Building, the English Tower, Plaza San Martín, Palacio Paz and the commercial street Florida.
Getting to Retiro is extremely easy, since it has subway entrances for line C, a train station, and a long-distance bus station that connects Buenos Aires with the rest of the country.
In Retiro there is the Four Seasons Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Park Tower, Alvear Art.
