The City of Buenos Aires attracts around 10 million tourists a year. Both foreigners and from other parts of the country. Its wide cultural offer, exquisite international gastronomy, emblematic neighborhoods and a hectic nightlife create a tempting combo for any traveler.

But it is important that everyone who comes to the capital of Argentina know where you are going to stay, since Buenos Aires is huge, and this is not an exaggeration. It has 48 neighborhoods very different from each other.

San Telmo

The Walk of History is another attraction. In San Telmo, tourists can be photographed at side of the popular sculpture of Mafalda, who is seen sitting on a wooden bench in the middle of a public thoroughfare. Other figures that can be found are Clemente, Gaturro or Isidoro.

This used to be one of the most elite neighborhoods in the City, but over the years it lost value. Today it is a place where the contrast of reality is in its streets. It is the most expensive neighborhood in Latin America according to various surveys. In an extremely exclusive area where there are huge skyscrapers with offices of multinationals and homes of important public figures in the country. 

There are some of the most luxurious hotels like the Faena, Hilton and Hotel Madero. All options are of a high standard. It is not an area suitable for those who want to save a little money. 

But whether they stay here or not, Puerto Madero is one of the obligatory stops for all tourists. A few meters from the Río de la Plata, with its dams and boats, it offers beautiful postcards. It is the office area of the City, but also one of the most requested by tourists. There are several of the sites of interest for visitors such as the Obelisco, the Casa Rosada, the Plaza de Mayo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the official Museum of the city.

Here, the nightlife is more than interesting. On the emblematic Avenida Corrientes are the majority of the city's theaters and two of the most emblematic pizzerias: Güerrin and Banchero. On July 9 there is Tango Porteño, a famous place that offers shows of this popular Argentine rhythm.

But keep in mind that being an office area, outside these streets, at night, the movement is little and many places are closed.

On the other hand, in this neighborhood it is extremely easy to get around. Subway lines A, C, D and E pass through the area. In addition, on Avenida 9 de Julio there is the Metrobús, a long lane where only buses can circulate, which makes it faster.

Recoleta

This area is known as  "Argentine Paris" due to the great French immigration that arrived from 1840 and its consequent architecture. It is a residential neighborhood with palaces and European-style buildings. It is chosen by the majority of tourists who do not skimp on expenses.

For visitors, it is a great option since there are several points of interest such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, the Recoleta Cultural Center, the Recoleta Cemetery, Floralis Generica, Recoleta Mall, the Grand Splendid Athenaeum, numerous parks and squares.

In addition, it has a great nocturnal activity. Numerous international food restaurants such as La Parolaccia, Cucina Paradiso, El Burladero, Roux; bars like Cruza, On Tap, Invernadero, Figueroa, Burro and bowling alleys like Afrika and Kuma are in Recoleta.

Another point in favor is its location. It is close to Palermo, Retiro, the city center and Jorge Newbery International Airport. It also has good connectivity. Bus and subway lines can be found a few meters away.
