Another great trekking option in Córdoba: Los Gigantes, which marks the beginning of the Sierras Grandes. The trekking to the Los Gigantes massif is one of the most recognized sites for hiking in Argentina. Although many visitors decide to summit, there are other routes that you can explore.
One of these routes is the Valle de Los Lisos, which is 16 meters long. km round trip and starts on the side of a mountain. Another alternative is Cerro Mogote, the highest peak in Los Gigantes, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view. The route to the top has a medium/high difficulty and requires a whole day.
You can also summit Los Gigantes, an expedition that lasts about two days and starts at the Casas Nuevas parador. The route crosses the Achala water reserve and the El Gigantillo refuge, where you can spend the night, continuing towards Los Cajones, reaching the summit at Los Mogotes and finally descending to Casas Nuevas.
Los Gigantes is one of the oldest sets of hills in Argentina, with a geological formation dating back about 600 million years.
