It is impossible not to mention El Chaltén in trekking, known as
the national capital of trekking, with numerous places for long walks. The
Trekking to the Laguna de los Tres is one of the most popular and admired, although it is also very challenging, with an approximate duration of 8 hours round trip. The hike will take you through forests and mountains to finally reach the
beautiful lagoon at the foot of the impressive Cerro Fitz Roy.
During the hike you will be able to appreciate an impressive variety of landscapes, which include lenga forests, crystalline streams and nearby glaciers, as well as a unique local fauna, including condors, guanacos and Patagonian hares.
The best time to visit the lagoon is between December and March, when the weather conditions are more favourable.
