This geographical feature is located in the Calingasta department. Due to its landscape and geological features, it was declared a Natural Monument of the province of San Juan.

Its strange shape and color create a unique view, making it a obligatory stop for those who visit the area. 
The hill is made up of sedimentary materials whose past is dates back to the beginning of the Mesozoic era. Its colors are due to sediments from the Triassic age.
