Lighthouse Views Beyond Ushuaia's Harbor
After a week of business meetings, sailing the Beagle Channel with my family felt like the real beginning of our first international trip. From Ushuaia's harbor, we cruised past Isla de los Pájaros and Isla de los Lobos, with albatrosses circling and sea lions piling onto the rocks. The Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse looked surprisingly small against the snow-covered Martial Range. Our guide, Martín, was fantastic: he pointed out an old kelp-gathering route and explained how the channel's currents change near Bridges Islands. He answered every question without rushing, making the scenery even more fascinating.
