The trekking from Iruya to Nazareno, in the province of Salta, is one of the most popular in northwestern Argentina.

The starting point departure is the picturesque town of Iruya, located in a valley surrounded by mountains in the Quebrada de Humahuaca. From there, you will enter a fascinating mountainous landscape full of colors made up of canyons, ravines, and ancient trails that connect Iruya with the remote town of Nazareno.

The flora and fauna of the area are also appreciable. You will come across giant cacti and tall bushes, and possibly you will come across condors, eagles, llamas, vicuñas and foxes.

The difficulty of the trek can vary depending on the chosen route and weather conditions, but in general it is considered moderate to difficult. The terrain is irregular and steep in some sections, so a good physical condition and previous experience in trekking are required.

The duration of the route can vary, but on average it is estimated to take around 3-6 days to complete. The total distance is approximately 45 kilometers, but it also changes depending on the route and the detours that are made.

The magic of this journey is sleep under the immensity of the stars in the middle of the solitude of the ravine, a scenario rarely experienced…
