Bonito is a city and an ecotourism center on Mato Grosso do Sul in southern Brazil. Surrounding area is known for crystalline rivers, such as the Prata River, a destination for snorkeling with abundant fish. The Anhumas Abyss is a huge cavern covered with stalactites, which allows abseiling and diving in an underground lake. Flocks of macaws nest in deep ocher depression of the Buraco das Araras.

Buraco das Araras is a huge crater in sandstone called Dolina (depression formed by collapse) with 100 meters deep and 160 meters in diameter that opens in the middle of the vegetation. Below the hole, a pond of green water, surrounded by lush forest which is home for alligators whose survival remains a mystery.

Tour is made on a path around the hole and stops at two viewpoints that offer a general view of its interior where many birds live. Stars of this place are"red and green macaws" they adopted the hole as a natural habitat and make their nests in holes on the sandstone walls. beside macaws, it is also worth paying attention to other birds, in the place there are 127 species including ibis and toucans. Mammals like the armadillo, the anteater, the coati, the small wolf.

Discovering Buraco das Araras seems like finding a treasure.
