This pyramid is the great protagonist of the Salar de Arizaro, the third largest in the continent and which is located more than 3,000 meters above sea level in Salta.

Between the towns of Caipe and Tolar Grande and between kilometers and kilometers of black salt appears the imposing Cono de Arita. It is a geoform 200 meters high of volcanic origin. Several studies have shown that it is a volcano that was not strong enough to explode, so it does not have a crater.

Based on the remains found at the site, it is believed that The cone was a ceremony center for those who inhabited the area before the arrival of the Incas.

To access, you need to have a 4X4 vehicle or hire an excursion.
